Establishment of the Noor Foundation
After leaving the Mostazafan Foundation in 1989, Rafiqdoost established the Noor Foundation, which focuses on medicine and construction. He also briefly owned Loghman Pharmaceutical Company before selling it. Additionally, he was involved in the founding of Fatemeh University of Medical Sciences in Qom.
Allegations of Political Assassinations
Rafiqdoost has been implicated in various covert operations, including the alleged assassinations of Iranian dissidents abroad. Reports suggest that he played a role in the killings of Commander Ovesi, Fereydoun Farrokhzad, Shahriar Shafiq, and Shapour Bakhtiar. These operations were reportedly conducted with the assistance of Basque separatists.
Murder Allegations
In his memoirs, Rafiqdoost admitted to the murder of a man he described as a “stickman of the Pahlavi government” and a member of SAVAK. He recounted witnessing the individual assault an elderly cleric and deciding to take revenge. Rafiqdoost claimed that he received religious approval from prominent clerics before executing the murder. He detailed the act, describing how he ambushed the man on a rainy night, striking him repeatedly with a club before leaving him in a water stream. The following day, rumors circulated about a body found in Shush Square.
