Hayedeh also studied traditional Persian vocal repertoire, learning the complex system of radif that forms the foundation of Iranian classical music. This education enabled her to perform sophisticated traditional compositions with confidence and authenticity.
In addition to vocal instruction, she learned to play the setar under Ahmad Ebadi, one of Iran’s most respected musicians. She also studied solfege with conductor and composer Fereydoun Naseri, further strengthening her understanding of rhythm, melody, and musical structure.
These years of education provided Hayedeh with a solid artistic foundation that distinguished her from many popular singers of her era.
Beginning a Professional Career
Hayedeh entered the professional music world in 1968 with the encouragement of poet Rahi Moeiri, who recognized her extraordinary potential. Through his introduction, she gained opportunities to perform on Radio Tehran’s prestigious Golha program, one of the country’s most respected musical broadcasts.
Her debut performance featured the song “Azadeh,” composed by Ali Tajvidi with lyrics by Rahi Moeiri. The performance immediately attracted attention from both audiences and critics. Listeners were captivated by the emotional intensity of her voice and the elegance of her interpretation.
