He remained president of the Boxing Federation until 2017, giving him a tenure of approximately twenty-eight years. This made his administration one of the longest periods of leadership associated with a major Iranian sports federation.

The federation was responsible for organizing and overseeing boxing activities, competitions, athletes, clubs, and the broader administration of the sport in Iran. The sport also remained connected to international boxing organizations and competitions, meaning that the federation’s leadership involved both domestic administration and international sporting relations.
Nateq-Nouri’s nearly three-decade tenure meant that he witnessed several generations of Iranian boxers and changes in the country’s sporting environment. He remained involved as the organization moved through different periods of Iranian political and social development, as well as changes in international sports.
His departure from the presidency in 2017 brought an end to one of the longest continuous phases of his public career. By that point, his name had become closely associated not only with parliamentary representation but also with Iranian boxing administration.
