The Karaj iron smelting plant was never built until, within the framework of the protocol of technical and economic cooperation between the government of Homeland and the former Soviet Union, the construction of an iron smelting plant was agreed upon and an agreement was signed, which was approved by the parliament on January 23, 1344  and its implementation It was started by Tyazhprom Export Company.The executive works of the construction of the various units of the factory began in 1346, and with the establishment of coking workshops, agglomeration, and blast furnace No. 1 in the first half of January 1350, the operation of the complex began with the production of cast iron and the production of steel products with the establishment of the steelmaking and rolling engineering department in It started in January 1351 with a capacity of 550,000 tons per year, and on March 23, 1974, Alexei Kasygin, the head of the Soviet Council of Ministers, arrived in Tehran with his daughter to attend the opening ceremony of the Isfahan Iron Smelting Factory.
