The terrible snow and cold of Mashhad in 1972


Domestic newspapers have narrated the casualties of Day and Avalanche as follows: “More than two hundred villages disappeared forever under the snow, and more than 4 thousand people lost their lives.” The height of the snow reaches eight to twelve meters in some places. This winter, more than two million livestock were lost, and many houses were destroyed. In addition, the height of snow between four and six meters has been reported in the cities.
