The terrible snow and cold of Mashhad in 1972

According to the spokesperson of Mashhad Municipality, this year twenty graders, bulldozers, tractors, and thirty dumpers of the municipality, along with forty trucks from contractors, with the help of officers of the nine branches and green spaces, and two hundred workers, are busy cleaning the streets. Public roads become the city. A month later, snow removal continues, and according to statistics, 8,610 snow trucks leave Mashhad so that the city can return to its old routine. Perhaps this was Mashhad’s greatest experience in dealing with heavy snows, and the heavy snowfalls of 55, 56, 58, 60, and 62, which were reflected in the press, are insignificant compared to this experience.
