The terrible snow and cold of Mashhad in 1972

The telephone connection between these cities and Capital has been cut off, and dozens of vehicles are left behind in the snow on the side and main roads of these cities. In addition, two people have dried up due to the extreme cold in Sarkhs and Neishabur. According to what the Khorasan newspaper reports about this year, there have been eleven snowfalls in Mashhad from January 1st to March 15th, 1350, 10 of which were very heavy, but the eleventh snow apparently did not bother much due to the warmth of the ground. During these two months, 40 destroyed houses were also reported inside the city and in the surrounding cities of Mashhad, especially Quchan and Torbat-Haydriya. The most difficult period, however, belonged to Bahman.
