While undergoing training at Fürstenfeldbruck in Germany, Jahanbani observed the American Skyblazers aerobatic team. He became fascinated by the team’s precision, discipline, formation flying, and coordination. Rather than simply viewing aerobatics as entertainment, he recognized that such training could develop qualities that were valuable to military pilots: concentration, teamwork, confidence, precision, and the ability to operate aircraft under extreme conditions. He eventually had the opportunity to participate in some Skyblazers training flights, an experience that inspired him to establish a similar team.
When Jahanbani returned, he began turning this idea into reality. In cooperation with several other Iranian pilots and with the support of senior Air Force leadership, he established first national jet aerobatic team. The team became known as Golden Crown (Taj-e Talayi). Its first official performance took place in 1958 after dozens of intensive training sessions. The team initially flew F-84G Thunderjets and later operated aircraft such as the F-86 Sabre and F-5.
