Abbas Abtahi; The taxi driver who became Lajevardi’s protector and did not spare his boss

Seyed Abbas Abtahi was born in Evin-Darke neighborhood, which in the past had a traditional and religious background like all the villages of Shemiranat. The Abtahi clan along with the Arabi, Masoudian, Mir Sharifi, Evini, Shoaibi, Fekri, Mir Rahimi and Bazar Afshan clans are among the old and traditional families of Evin and Derke. Darka police station is also called “Shaheed Abtahi” who must be from the same tribe. Derke found a special position after 1960 because the Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office based in Evin forcibly bought the houses around the Evin prison for security reasons and handed them over to their trusted people.

Seyyed Abbas was a taxi driver of the Evin-Darkeh line before he became the guard of Evin. Apparently, he was admitted to Evin prison from the local committee, and after going through all the procedures and showing his dedication to the criminals, he climbed the steps of promotion in Evin and became a close friend of Lajurdi. After the killing of Mojtabi Mihrab Begi and Jalil Banda (2), two of Lajordi’s main bodyguards and the officials of the execution squad, he joined Lajordi’s bodyguards and his relatives along with Asghar Dolabi (Bijan Turke) from the Evin Task Force.
