After the voting, Haddadal’s credentials were confirmed. Haddadal became the head of the minority faction in the 6th Parliament. [source needed] He won in the 7th Majlis after being elected as the first elected member of the people of Tehran in the presiding election with 196 votes against 55 votes from Hassan Sobhani. Moin, the candidate of the Party of Participation and Mujahideen of the Revolution, and Mohsen Mehralizadeh, the independent reformer, rejected it. Haddadadal wrote a letter to the leadership and requested that he recommend the Guardian Council expand its circle of qualified candidates.
