Hossein Gol-e-Golab, the poet of the famous song about the homeland

He was preparing an encyclopedia in the field of botany when he died on March 22, 1363 and was buried in Behesht Zahra, Tehran. He was survived by three children named Farrokh Golgolab (road and construction engineer), Homa Golgolab (doctor of pharmacy and organic chemistry) and Dariush Golgolab, doctor and radiologist. Hossein Golgolab is the singer of “Ey Iran” anthem. According to a story, after World War II and the occupation of Homeland by Russian, British and American forces in 1323, one day when Golgolab was passing by Hedayat Street, he noticed some foreign soldiers’ behavior with the people. He goes to the National Music Association on Hedayat St. (Wali Abad neighborhood) and explains this situation to Ruhollah Khaleghi with sadness. Khaleghi is very affected. This issue becomes an incentive for Khaleghi to compose a song and Golgolab to write his poem.
